On November 21, 1925, in Tutzing, Germany, four German nuns set up a convent in Wonsan, South Hamgyong Province to carry out missionary work, but were forced to withdraw by the Communist Party and fled to South Korea in 1950.

When the Daegu priority in South Korea grew rapidly, a second priority was established in Seoul in 1987. The two priorates have many small and larger communities involved in mental health, medical care and education.
