Success doesn’t just occur. It takes effort and sacrifice, it never comes in a silver plate, and one needs to have worked for it through determination and prayer. It is also true that the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. And this is the step the parishioners of Regina Caeli Parish, Karen made. Excitement mingled with apprehension was written all over the Christian’s faces as the long awaited day had finally come.
Glory be to God for this wonderful time to celebrate the dedication of their Church, Regina Caeli, which occured on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 8th December, 2022. In attendance were the clergy, religious women and men from different religious congregations from within and outside Karen, parishioners and distinguished guests. Our community was not left out, all the Postulants (13) and ten Sisters making a total of twenty-three members represented the community and took part in the celebration.
After the litany of the saints, the Bishop began depositing the relics of St. Teresa of Calcutta which were “First Class” meaning that they are direct body parts of the saint. The Church was officially dedicated to God through the intercession of St. Teresa of Calcutta. What a wonderful experience for most of us who attended the celebration to witness such a rich rite of the dedication of the Church for the first time in life!
