For the official visitation of Daegu priory Sr. Katharina Mtitu came to Korea together with Prioress General M. Maoro Sye, She visited Seoul priory from 19th December to 23rd December. She had a big smile on her face when the sisters greeted her with welcoming words in Kiswahili ‘Karibu Sana’.
In spite of busy season of the year-end, the welcoming ceremony, consisting of a few numbers of dancing, singing songs in Kiswahili, and in Korean, playing chime bell and african drum prepared sincerely, gave much joy to Sr. Kathrina. Especially the wonderful and beautiful traditional Korean dance performed by novice Christina Jung was highly appreciated. It seemed that Sr. Katharina was very happy with the welcoming program. She was very enthusiastic about her visit to Myeongdong Cathedral and Seosolmun Martyrs’ Shrine in spite of the cold weather.
Not only several sations but also Aehwa School and some other pastoral ministry site..she saw with big open eyes. It was a very short time, but she had a good experience of the capital city Seoul. She returned to Daegu priory on 23rd December.
