On June 16, Manila Priory in the person of Sr. Mary Thomas Prado, Prioress, turned over the stewardship of St. Peter’s College in Ormoc to the archdiocese in the person of Archbishop John Du.
94 years the sisters had served in providing Catholic quality education and formation based on Benedictine values.
M. Mary Thomas thanked the Archbishop, alumni and parents, administrators, faculty,
staff, and all stakeholders for the partnership.
Finally she thanked God for the students, for the vibrant joy and energy, and for bringing life to our mission-vision.
With the hand-over of the college,
also the community and its Socio-Pastoral Apostolate Center will be closed.
After a long discernment process the priory of Manila had seen
this the time to act as written in our Constitutions:
Having prepared the way of faith we are ready,
when the time comes, to step back and to pass the leadership to others.
That in all things God may be glorified!
