Our community, which had not been able to gather for a while due to COVID-19, gathered on Community Day for the first time in three years and held the ‘Proclamation Ceremony the 100th Anniversary of our Congregation in Korea’. The Preparation Committee set the theme of the 100th anniversary as ‘Invitation to This Land, with the Strength of that Calling’. The reason for choosing this theme is that the Life of Calling in this land, begun by the arrival of four sisters dispatched from Tutzing Motherhouse, has continued to this day and will continue on in this land. Thus, through the history of our Congregation in Korea, we can testify to the strength of the call. Therefore, the commemoration of the 100th anniversary in Korea will be a praise and gratitude for the past years, as well as a reflection and challenge for the new 100 years.
We will go on a three-year journey as follows to welcome 2025, which marks the 100th anniversary of our congregation in Korea:
2023: A Year to Remember with Love and Gratitude
2024: A Year to Commit Ourselves with Joy and Fervor
2025: A Year to Proclaim with Faith and Hope
First, in order to ‘Remember 2023 with Love and Gratitude’, all members will have an annual retreat based on the history of our Congregation. The plans for the next two years will be presented step by step according to the inspiration of the Lord.
Therefore, today, October 10, 2022, under the theme of ‘Invitation to this Land, With the Strength of That Calling,’ I, Prioress Sister Christina Moon, proclaim a Journey toward the 100th Anniversary of the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing in Korea.
