SISTERS BLENDED VALUE PROJECT: MBS SOCIAL ENTERPRISE WITH A DIFFERENCE!
This is a programme initiated by ACWECA (Association of Consecrated Women of East and Central Africa) in the year 2017 for all the congregations of religious women in the region. The main goal is to transform our social ministries into social enterprises for sustainability. Three sisters; Srs. Lusina, Lynet and Christine joined the training from 2019 and prepared to improve one of our social ministry of poultry rearing into a social enterprise. It has been a long journey of learning and transformation. Entrepreneurship is key in this area and we have to pass on the skills for the growth of our social enterprise. Our dream is to empower our formation members in entrepreneurship skills so that they can put our charism and the dream of our founder into practice.
In order to reach out to the society around, we recruited five marginalized women to train and support them to begin their own enterprises. Each one was given 5 chicken to rear and the proceeds to help their grandchildren who are orphaned. Our goal is to reach out to more vulnerable women and youth because in this way we transform the society, have food security and education for the young people who are the future leaders.
