Tree planting in Rome
On February 28, 2019 the Casa community had a small liturgy planting one tree representing all the trees which were already planted before and will still be planted in the big garden following the recommendation of the XIII General Chapter.

Mass for Peace in Korea
On October 17, 2018 Cardinal Pietro Parolin presided over a "Mass for Peace" on the Korean Peninsula in Rome's St. Peter's Basilica, in which President Moon participated. 20 delegates of the General Chapter attended the Mass.

Newly Elected Prioress General
On 3rd of October 2018 Sr. Maoro Sye was elected as the new Prioress General.

XIII General Chapter
On 23rd of September 2018 the 13th General Chapter with the theme "We are different yet one" was opened.

On Monday, June 4, the Preparatory Commission started its work to prepare for the 13th General Chapter in Rome.

On April 21, 2018 Tutzing and Bernried responded to the call to open their doors for visitors (Day of the open Cloister). More than 200 followed the invitation in Bernried and could get to know the house and the sisters and enjoy local products.

On April 12, 2018 started the International Weeks of Encounter in Rome. 33 Sisters arrived from all over the world to participate in this program for 5 weeks in Rome and one week in Tutzing. It will be a time of sharing, pilgrimages and spiritual renewal.

On Feb 6, 2018 new stations of the cross were blessed in the garden of the Casa Santo Spirito Community in Rome. The stations were made articstically from fallen trees of the garden by Sr. Lumen Gloria Dungca.
Inspired by the World Prayer Day for Creation, the community of Okongo / Namibia organized a inter-denominational workshop on Sep 1, 2017 with representatives from various institutions and sectors of Okongo. Read more

On May 8, 2017 22 Oblates together with Sr. Timothea Pak from Seoul Priory / Korea visited the Casa Community in Rome.

On Friday in the Easter Octave April 21, 2017 a new church bell was blessed in St. Scholastica community in Mtwara / Tanzania.
The Manila Community went to Sambayanan ni San Benito (Society of St. Benedict) Community, a housing project for families in need, last March 17, 2017.

From February 16 - 27, 2017 a Prioresses' Meeting is held in the Generalate House in Rome. 20 Prioresses, Superiors of Regions and Generalate District Houses are meeting with the Generalate under the theme: WE ARE DIFFERENT YET ONE. "So we, though many, are one body in Christ." Romans 12:5a

On Dec 23, 2016 the new Abbot Primate Gregory Polan together with the new Prior of San Anselmo Fr. Mauritius Wilde came for a friendly visit to the Casa Community in Rome.
With the new liturgical year also another International Juniorate Program started in Rome with 6 juniors from Brasil, India, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
From Oct 28 to Nov 12, 2016 were again held the RB Study Weeks with 46 participants in Tagaytay / Philippines.
During the world-wide solidarity action for the World Mission Sundady Sr. Mary John Mananazan was invited among others to a high school in Magdeburg / Germany to enter into conversation with the students.She began by guiding them through some Shibashi exercises.

On October 24, 2016 our Prioress General M. Angela Strobel celebrated together with the Generalate and the Casa the community her 50th Jubilee of Profession. We rejoice with her and thank her for her faithful service.
On 10th of September 2016 the Bishop of Sumbe D. Luzizila Kiala blessed the new Convent Building with Chapel in Waku Kungo / Angola. Many guests participated in this event.
On Aug 15, 2016 Sr. Martha Baumeister was installed as new superior in Haus St. Benedikt in Tutzing / Germany. She took over from Sr. Chantal Gerster. Thank you to Sr. Chantal for her selfless service for 9 years.
On July 1, 2016 Peramiho celebrates 115 years since its foundation. The celebration includes a prayer day.
On May 16, 2015 Sr. Rosalina Fajardo was installed as the new General Secretary. Sr. Carmel Simpauco, the outgoing secretary was thanked for her tireles work as General Secretary for the last three years.

On January 3, 2016 Sr. Monika Groth was installed as the new Congregation Archivist. She took over from Mathilda Handl, who did it for many years with great dedication. We thank Sr. Mathilda and wish Sr. Monika God's blessing for the new start.

Gathered as God's family on Sunday, November 29, 2015, First Sunday of Advent and the eve of the opening of the 21st Conference of Parties (COP 21) for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Paris, France, the Ecology Ministry of the Archdiocese of Manila in collaboration with the parishes, educational institutions and environmentalist groups spearheaded the Solidarity Prayer March for Climate.

On September 5, Sr. Wilfreda Schroll, the eldest sister of Tutzing Priory, celebrated her 101st birthday.
On August 16, 2015 Bishop Gabriel Mmole blessed the new chapel of St. Scholastica community in Mtwara Tanzania.

To strengthen the bond and peace between and among Germans and Filipinos, 16 Grade 11 students, two teachers and one Benedictine priest from Rhabanus Maurus Gymnasium, St. Ottilien, Germany came to visit St. Scholastica's College-Manila High School Unit and some of its adopted communities last July 28-August 9, 2015 as part of the Benedictine Ambassadors of Peace Program (BAPP).

From July 5 - 12, 2015 Sr. Verena Leinen, Junior Sister from Tutzing Priory and Nov.Nadya Ruzhina, Novice from Tutzing / Bulgaria could participate in the international meeting of young Religious in Taizé / France.
On April 21, 2015 in the University of San Anselmo was held the book review of the newly published 3 volume exegetic commentary on the Rule of St. Benedict by Sr. Aquinata Boekmann, the valuable fruit of lifelong reseach and teaching. It was followed by celebtarion with refreshments.

Sr. Marianne S. and Sr. Elisabeth B. celebrated their golden jubilee on April 19, 2015 at Generalate House with Casa community and 32 IWE participants.
2015International Weeks of Encounter have begun on April 13, 2015 with 32 participants of 11 Priories and 2 Regions of the General District.
Norfolk priory is working on some fundraising for the Sisters in Angola for their project to build some classrooms. (click here)
